Hello, my name is Alaina Saganey and I am Navajo. I was born and raised in Phoenix but would travel back to the Navajo reservation often to visit family members or participate in events. I have seen the struggles that many face while living on the reservation. I want to be an example for other natives, to show that we have a spot in the tech industry. From a young age, technology was a big part of my life, I saw all the big changes happen that bring us to what it is today. I became more interested in computers in middle school when I taught myself editing software for fun which led to me wanting to be a graphic designer. In high school, I took a graphic design class when I was a junior and took it until I graduated in 2020. I really enjoyed that class, always finding it a place to relax in between my hectic schedule. I loved the computer classes I took when I was in school, I even took a couple in college. I am eager to learn more about coding, I am a fast learner and driven to work harder so I can be a role model for my little cousins and for other natives all over.
