Hello, my name is Alegandro Aguirre. I am part of an Alaska Native tribe called Tlingit. I was born and raised in Everett, Washington, and I graduated from Mariner High in 2014. After graduation, I attended a program called Year Up where I learned business etiquette,
information technology, and quality assurance. I was provided with a six-month-long internship at Microsoft with the Microsoft Surface Division as a manual hardware test engineer. Working with undisclosed devices was an exciting experience for me. I decided to pursue software development as my career since I enjoy creativity and problem-solving challenges. I previously learned HTML/CSS during my time at Year Up and I have been teaching myself JavaScript. Since
I found it hard to break into the field without a computer science degree or work experience, I worked as a data entry clerk with Grifols. I worked remotely and with people across the country because of Covid-19. When I heard about the Codefy program and the hands-on work experience, I knew this program would be the right one for me to achieve my goals.
