Ethan Bolton
Hello, my name is Ethan Bolton. I am an Alaska Native from Anchorage, Alaska. I lived there for 20 years and then moved to California for personal reasons. I am Tlingit, Inupiaq, and Aleut and take pride in my indigenous identity. I grew up with a liking for electronics and have always been interested in how devices work. As I was growing up, I was playing video games and always trying to get the new tech that was just released. I grew up rather poor so I couldn’t get the new technology but that never took away my passion for learning how they worked. Coding languages did not get introduced to me until after I graduated high school though. I was trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my life, and I knew that I liked software/video games. So, I looked up how to make those things and that led me to coding languages such as Java for Minecraft. I have always thought of myself as a logical person, and I thought that coding would be a great way to put those skills to use. I am excited to build programs that can be used by everyone, and I think the Codefy program is a great way to bring that to fruition.
