Hello, my name is Keenan Smiley, I live in Phoenix, AZ and I’m a part of the Dine people
(Navajo). I grew up traveling every chance we got to go back to the reservation. I was
born in Flagstaff, moved back and forth between Kayenta and Phoenix, and graduated
high school in Phoenix. I had my video games to keep me company through everything,
and throughout the years my passion for gaming grew exponentially. I wanted to create
one myself.

I tried going to college for computers but never finished it because of financial
problems. I currently work as an Assistant Deli Manager at Fry’s Grocery store. Through
all my years of work, I have learned to take the lead and support my coworkers when
they need help.

I’ve obtained a Google IT Support Professional Certificate but haven’t had success in
finding a job because of a lack of relevant work experience. I found out about Codefy
through CPLC and I see potential in it to help me achieve what I really want to do in life.
I now have my newborn daughter and spouse to take care of, and I believe Codefy will
help me get a start on what I want to do to help support my new family.
