Hello, my name is Maryah Gowan. I was born and raised on the Navajo reservation, where I lived with my grandmother. Growing up on the reservation, I learned the values of hard work, resilience, and the importance of community. Today, I am proud to be on the path towards a career in software development by attending Codefy, to focus on establishing financial stability for myself and my 10-year-old daughter. After graduating from high school in 2016, I pursued various professional opportunities. My experience as a manager at a theater from October 2023 to February 2024, and at an auto glass company from March 2020 to May 2023 have equipped me with leadership and organizational skills that continue to leverage in my pursuit of obtaining a career in computer science. Despite the challenges I face, I am grateful for the experiences that have shaped me, and the unwavering support of my family. I remain committed to my educational and professional aspirations, demonstrating resilience and unwavering determination. As I continue to progress in my coding education, I look forward to contributing my passion for technology and my strong work ethic to the dynamic field of computer science.
