Greetings, my name is Shawn Stough. I am an Alaskan Native of Tlingit descent from the Shtaxʼhéen Ḵwáan tribe. I was born and raised in Alaska, and currently reside in Palmer, Alaska. Computers were an essential part of my life growing up, from playing video games with my siblings to teaching myself HTML and basic web design at age nine. It is an interest that has stuck with me throughout the years. After graduating high school, I spent my time traveling the country and working various jobs, but I always had it in my mind to pursue education in the field of computer science. I am a highly motivated and professional worker with experience in operations and maintenance and the service industry, with my last job being in direct support of federal government operations to protect national security. I look forward to developing the skills and expertise in coding and software development that the Codefy program can provide for me, and with it I hope to establish a foundation for myself to pursue my goal of forging a career in the world of coding and computers.
